Both tournaments: the Copa America 2020 and Euro Cup 2020 were scheduled to kick off this summer on June 13, 2020.
Due to the recent developments of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the respective organizers CONMEBOL and UEFA have announced the postponement of their tournaments by 12 months.
“It’s an extraordinary measure due to an unexpected situation, and therefore responds to the fundamental need to avoid an exponential evolution of the virus,” said CONMEBOL.
International soccer is not the only one being affected, all domestic leagues are also on hold during these difficult times. UEFA’s actions have also been implemented to help the continuation of European leagues ; “The move will help all domestic competitions, currently on hold due to the COVID-19 emergency, to be completed,” UEFA said.
Soccer Quiniela will continue to monitor developments; but for the time being, us soccer lovers will have to wait until next year to play our quinielas and enjoy the excitement of the most beautiful sport of the world.
